ERGO Network Annual Policy Conference: Implementing the EU Roma Strategic Framework. Roma child poverty and the prevention of family separation

Join us for our annual Policy Conference 2026!
At a time when Europe is confronted by war at its borders, the ongoing cost of living crisis, and political instability, its Roma find themselves facing worsening poverty and exclusion, dire living conditions, and widespread antigypsyism every day.
The Policy Conference will serve to launch ERGO Network’s research report on “Roma children: child poverty and prevention of family separation”, based on 6 national case studies carried out in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Spain. The subsequent dialogue with key decision-makers and stakeholders will aim to identify positive solutions to support Roma children and their families to stay together and escape poverty and antigypsyism, as well as to positively contribute to informing the delivery of the EU Roma Strategic Framework, the European Child Guarantee, and the European Pillar of Social Rights.
The event will also examine the implementation of the EU Roma Strategic Framework on Equality, Inclusion, and Participation, in the context of the European Commission’s Mid-Term Review. It will launch our monitoring report on the topic, covering EU Member States and enlargement countries, with findings from civil society and local authorities, and it will foster a discussion with participants and decision-makers on how to improve implementation, as well as ensure continuity of the priority given to Roma equality, participation, and inclusion in EU policy and funding.
The conference will bring together ERGO Network members from the grassroots level, EU policy-makers from across the institutional spectrum, as well as other relevant European and national stakeholders.
