Report

Roma Access to Quality and Inclusive Education, Training, and Lifelong Learning in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Spain with Additional Benchmarking Evidence from Ireland and Sweden

November 2025

Education
This ERGO Network report examines Roma access to education, training, and lifelong learning in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Spain (with benchmarking from Ireland and Sweden), based on national case studies gathered in 2025. It finds persistently low educational attainment across the lifecycle, driven by financial and non-financial barriers, segregation, antigypsyism, underused mediators, and near-absent Romani language and history in curricula.
